If you're the type to pick up hitchhikers, head westward — you might just cross paths with Niall Horan.

Horan, whose debut album Flicker dropped in October 2017, released the video for new single "On the Loose" Tuesday (March 6), which finds him chasing a love interest across barren wastelands and desert landscapes. Route 66: You might have just found your own new brand ambassador.

"Yeah, she loves when everybody's watching / She knows the way her body moves / She loves the way they all crawl back when she says / That she loves nobody else but you," Horan croons as he and a mystery woman lock eyes later at a crowded nighttime party. Eventually, they meet up inside Horan's car and hit the road.

"On the Loose," which was released to radio in February, follows Flicker singles "This Town," "Slow Hands" and "Too Much To Ask." "Slow Hands" has amounted to Horan's peak track performance, having reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Flicker, on the other hand, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its October 2017 release.

Horan told Rolling Stone in September that his brand of rock in 2018 — which rings loudly and clearly on "On the Loose" — is the result of trusting his gut throughout the writing process, and working with people he trusts.

"I wanted this album to be completely personal," he said, "and therefore the best way for me to get what I wanted out of the songs was to write them with friends."
