ST. JOSEPH - This Friday is the 20th anniversary of the shooting and killing of St. Joseph police officer Brian Klinefelter. A book about that tragic event is being released this weekend to coincide with the anniversary.

St. Cloud native Andy Marso wrote the book "The Klinefelter Legacy: A Story Of Faith, Family, and Forgiveness".

I tell the story of what happened that night. So I start out with the three young men robbing the liquor store in Albany at gunpoint, which is kind of how this whole thing began. And then chapter two I catch up with the store clerk who was on duty that night and I find out what's happened to her in the last 20 years.

He says he wanted the support of the family when putting the book together.

They have created so much good out of what happened that night, that I think it's really important to not only tell the story about the terrible things that happened that night, but also focus on all the good things that have happened in the 20 years since.

Marso says he'll be signing copies of his book on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in St. Cloud. You can also buy the book at KEEPRS.

A portion of the money from the book will go to the Brian Klinefelter Foundation.

Coming up tomorrow (Thursday) on WJON we'll tell you about an event happening on Friday in St. Joseph to honor officer Brian Klinefelter. And, on Friday we'll recap the events of that night on January 29th, 1996 that lead to the the shooting and killing of Officer Klinefelter.
