This week, one of our favorite bands vows not to get out of bed,  and a Caribbean siren (that has worked with our other artist) pleads for exclusivity.

First up is the smooth playa Adam Levine and his Brentwood, LA high school posse; Maroon 5. We've been fans of these guys since 'Songs About Jane' debuted way back in 2002. Can you believe they've been on our radar for nearly a decade already?

In that time they've produced only 3 albums. Now back in the day, three albums in 10 years was about right, but so many artists today are pushed into dropping a set every year. Not these boys. They've been in control since the beginning.

We've liked several things about Maroon 5 from the start. First, their funky groove, which is always infectious and drives of the song to danceability and finger-poppin'. Secondly their use of all the instruments equally, a formula unheard of in today's music. And finally, their virtual update of disco. There's just enough groove, boogie and swirling guitar to evoke memories of KC And The Sunshine Band. The handsome lead singer Adam doesn't hurt either!

This week we're unwrapping 'Never Gonna Leave This Bed'. They had better, we hear their touring late this year with Train!

Next is a native of the lush tropical isle of Barbados. Rihanna has been a pop diva for a short five years, but has made a substantial impact with each new release.

Her first big hit came at the expense of a hyperactive DJ that just couldn't get enough of his favorite song. 'Pon de Replay' exploded in the clubs overseas and was immediately imported by DJ's across the night spots in the US. She co-opted Soft Cell's synth stabs from their hit 'Tainted Love' for her smash 'SOS', followed it up with 'Umbrella' and 'Don't Stop the Music' and one of our favorites, 'Disturbia'.

Her new disc is titled 'Loud' and we're adding her heartfelt plea with a bumpin' backbone; 'Only Girl In the World'.
