My Roller Coaster of A Weekend Full of Injuries and Proposals
ST. CLOUD -- The last few days have definitely been a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows for me.
It started on Saturday, my basketball team I play for was in the state tournament. We were all excited to play and felt this was our year.
Well not even five minutes into the game I went down and my ankle felt funny as I walked off the court. I knew it wasn't something I could walk off.
After a trip to the ER my worst nightmare was confirmed...I tore my Achilles tendon.
With my family and girlfriend by my side we quickly set up an appointment for surgery (which I had yesterday and recovering well FYI).
However, with all bad things that happen, there was a silver lining to the day. With all the emotions of what next and the long road of recovery I have, my girlfriend was feeling pretty down because she knows how much athletics mean to me.
I couldn't take it anymore to see her so sad. So I got up and went to my room to grab something.
When I came out she was standing in the kitchen and I presented her a Ring Pop to cheer her up. Needless to say that didn't even get her to crack a smile...So I pulled out the big guns.
I got down on one knee (well more like a pistol squat) and pulled out a real ring and popped the question! And after a few minutes of crying she said yes!
It just goes to show you even when things look their darkest, there is always some light at the end of the tunnel.
