What happened over the weekend is being called 'the largest mass shooting in US history.'

Like most people, I found out about the Orlando terror attack through social media on Sunday morning. This is something that hits close to home for me as I lived in Sarasota, Florida for a number of years growing up. I have many friends that live in Orlando, Florida and I immediately feared for them.

Throughout the day, I kept seeing old Florida friends post on Facebook about how they were OK. When things like this happen, it often times feels like it's something happening in a different part of the world--something you think can't happen here and especially not to you. It's scary and unfortunate how untrue that is. Shootings like the one in Orlando can happen anywhere.

It's hard to put into words what a great tragedy this is. Today my heart hurts for the victims and their families. I'm praying for the people of Florida, that they don't live in fear because of this incident.
