My New Reason To Go To Starbucks- And It’s NOT Coffee!

HAT'S OFF TO STARBUCKS

Every morning, my Co host Chad Taylor pushes my buttons and tries to make me give in to go buy us our morning coffee. I've been trying to watch what I eat and make a life change; the coffee has to wait! But now, I've found a different reason to go to Starbucks.

Starbucks has been donating things like their leftover muffins to food banks for the past six years or so. For safety reasons, they have not been able to donate the healthy sandwiches and salads because they have to stay refrigerated.

STARBUCKS BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

Yestersday, Starbucks announced  that within five years, they will be donating virtually ALL of their leftover food. They are working with a charity called Feeding America, and they will have refrigerated vans picking up food from about 7600 Starbucks locations across the US each day!

Starbucks is going to try to have the program up and running by the end of the year, and hope to donate about five million meals in the first twelve months...aand 50 mililion over the next five years.

WILL OTHER RESTAURANTS JOIN IN ?

Since they will have the trucks, they are going to try to get other restaurants to jump on board and donate their food as well! Go Starbucks!
