My Fondest Mother’s Day Memory [That I Do NOT Want to Re-Create]

The past few years for Mother's Day my family has spent it at our quiet little lake lot, grilling food and spending quality time with each other. Honestly it isn't any different than our typical Sunday's May through September.

Last year my Dad bought a jet ski for my sister, Natalie, and we decided to put it in the lake on Mother's Day. My sister spent all day trying to convince me to go for a ride with her on it. The weather was nice but it wasn't jet ski nice and the lake water was still freezing cold. And in addition to that our jet ski was more of a one person size.

Around 4:30 pm I was so sick of Natalie asking me to go for a ride that I finally gave in and put on a life jacket. I wasn't expecting to get too wet so I just kept my normal clothes on and hopped on the back of the jet ski. And boy was I wrong. We no more than got pushed away from the dock and were flipped over in the water! Our lake is pretty small so all the neighbors were clapping and cheering for us, since we had just been the first ones to "take a swim" that year!

I am hoping that this year for Mother's Day I stay a little more dry.Don't forget to show your mom some extra love this weekend!
