My First Trip to Emily, Minnesota is 24 hours Away [PHOTOS]
Ever since I moved here a year and a half ago, I’ve always wanted to be “that guy” who says on Friday, “I’m going up north to the cabin.” Well guess where I’m headed this weekend….UP NORTH! Minnesota has so many wonderful destinations and offers family friendly adventures at very reasonable prices.
My family and I are headed to Emily, Minnesota for the weekend. Where is Emily? That was the first question my wife asked. Emily is a short drive from the Brainerd Lakes area located in the northeast corner of Crow Wing County, one of the state’s most popular vacation destinations with more than 500 lakes. Emily is home to just under 1000 people and has some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. I took some time to check out the city’s website and learned the area boosts some of the best hunting, fishing, and wildlife watching in the state. I heard a trip to Emily isn’t complete without a photo op with “Willy the Walleye” at City Park.
After some research I found out the city got its name from “Emily Christie” a girl born soon after the city’s founding who went on to have a very distinguished career. Were staying at North Country Outdoors and can’t wait to get out on one of the many lakes and enjoy the natural beauty that the great state of Minnesota offers year round.
