I've had an eye twitch for a month now, and it's starting to worry me. So, yesterday I called the doctor to see if it was serious enough that I needed to be seen.

I wasn't worried about the spasms at first. I thought, maybe I just need to eat a banana because I could be low on potassium. I ate a banana and that wasn't it. So, I thought maybe I was just really tired. I started taking naps in the afternoon, and that didn't help.

I don't drink caffeine and I rarely drink alcohol--so, that was out. I really don't feel overly stressed at all, just normal stresses of everyday life.

The eye clinic told me that I should come in and be looked at. That started to worry me. So, of course I started asking them a million questions as to what it could be. They gave me a few explanations, like the ones I mentioned above. They told me that if it were to get worse before I could be seen, I should go to the emergency room. WHAT?! EMERGENCY ROOM?!

That started to freak me out...So, I did what every freaked out adult does. I Googled my symptoms and checked it out on Web MD. That was a BIG mistake because, if I wasn't already stressed out...I am now! Web MD gave me a laundry list of horrifying things it could be.

The internet says it could be an early sign of MS, belpharospasm or hemifacial spasms--which could lead to blindness. BLINDNESS. I'm kind of freaking out today and definitely trying to not to think about it too much.

Have you ever had an eye twitch like mine that lasted for a long time? I'm asking for a friend.
