When I get bored I surf different recipe ideas on Pinterest. Yesterday I stumbled across an oven bake doughnut recipe that I really wanted to try.

I already had all of the ingredients that I needed so at about 7:30 p.m. I got to work. I added in my milk, sugar, butter and active dry yeast.

Next, I added in the flour, salt and rest of the ingredients that I needed. I mixed everything together and started to knead out the dough. I did this for about five minutes until my arms started to hurt.

I put the dough on the counter to let it rise for an hour. I came back an hour later to find that it hadn't risen. I decided that at this point it was nearly 9:00 p.m. and I didn't have anymore time to wait. I decided to roll out the dough and cut it into the doughnut shape.

I put the doughnuts on a cookie sheet and threw it in the oven for about 8 minutes. When they were gold and brown I took them out of the oven. I was disappointed when I realized that they were as flat as they were when I put them in the oven.

I have no idea what I did wrong. I felt like I followed the recipe perfectly. I don't think I know how to correctly use yeast in my recipes. I ended up throwing everything away and going to bed defeated.

I definitely need your advice. Do you have an oven bake doughnut recipe I can try?
