Have a thing for seafood in a shell?  Then you've got to make a trip down to Minneapolis and visit the Smack Shack!

From Alaskan King Crab and Wild Salmon to Po'Boys and Shrimp & Grits this casual coastal spot will leave you yearning to come back for more.

Years ago the Smack Shack appeared on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives when it was just a food truck.  Since then, the Smack Shack moved to cooking out of the kitchen at the 1029 Bar and from there opened it's very own restaurant in Minneapolis' North Loop at 603 Washington Avenue, which is where you'll find it today.

I was blown away by the food.  We went for lunch over the weekend and I indulged in the Connecticut-Style Po'Boy with a side of Lobster Mac & Cheese.  If I could afford it, I would drive down and eat at Smack Shack everyday!

That's my only caution.  The menu can get a bit spendy, but it is totally worth the price.  Just look at this mac & cheese they're serving up.  It's the dish that caught the attention of Guy Fieri.

Perfectly creamy with just a hint of crunchy texture from the panko and a touch of sweet from the corn.

Smack Shack, I will be back!
