Are you a sucker like me? I get so distracted when I go shopping and I see all of these signs "FREE!" "Limited Time Offer!" "New and Improved!" and spend way more money than I should sometimes. According to Yahoo Finance, there are buzz words that get us to give up our hard earned money.

Free! As in "buy one, get one." Nothing feels better than getting something for free, even when you didn't. Technically, the company just wants to get rid of old product, so they just bundle stuff and stick a "buy one, get one" sticker on it.

Money Back Guarantee always works on me as well. This one makes you overly confident, more likely to buy and more likely to like it after you buy it. Plus, a lot of people hate returning stuff even if there is something wrong with it.

New and Improved is always a key buzz word. How many times can Tide really be new and improved? Don't get me wrong, I love it. I'm a total slob sometimes and stuff always comes out when I use it, but, people always want to be on top of the latest thing. New and improved is such an effective phrase, the Federal Trade Commission is allowing companies to slap it on their products even if it has only been six months since the last upgrade.

Facebook comes to the rescue again! A woman posted a photo of her son on her Facebook page and got a diagnosis that ended up saving his life. Her boy had woken up with a high fever and mysterious rash, so she took him to the doctor. He was dismissed as having strep throat, got some meds and was sent on his way. The next day, it was getting worse, and he also had a swollen face, so she took a picture and posted it to her Facebook page. One person knew exactly what he had and told her to go to the ER. Turns out, her son had something called Kawasaki Disease. It's a rare auto-immune disorder that attacks the coronary arteries around the heart and it can be fatal. The disease affected his heart and liver, but he got the treatment he needed and is expected to be fine!
