Forget deep fried beer, deep fried kool-aid and deep fried Twinkies. The brand new fair food for the 2011 California State Fair isn't deep fried or on a stick, but it's definitely different. It's called the Maggot Melt. It's a grilled cheese sandwich jam packed with dried maggots, but because it's the fair the maggots are deep fried. They're also offering deep fried scorpion and raccoon on a stick. Would you eat that?

If I haven't said this enough, kids are AWESOME. This little girl did something most of us will never do and the way she handled herself after she did it was incredible. Last week, six year old Reagan Kennedy from Bloomington, Illinois was out golfing with her family at The Links at Ireland Grove when she stepped up to the 85 yard third hole and hit a HOLE IN ONE. Instead of jumping around screaming "IN YOUR FACE!" she calmly walked back to the cart and placed her club back in her bag. Reagan has been playing golf since she was two and her father always told her to remain calm, cool and relaxed on the course, which explains her reaction. Her older sister did set her straight (as big sisters often do) and told her that a hole in one is a big deal and it's OK to celebrate a little. The odds of hitting such a shot? 12,500 to 1.
