An update on Benton the Pit Bull, why you shouldn't tamper with wires and are we now incapable of watching TV and doing nothing else?

Yesterday, we told you about Benton the Pit Bull puppy who was stolen from the Tri-County Humane Society and there is a happy ending to this story. Benton was found unharmed and living with a family in a rural area of Benton County. When questioned, the family said that someone gave them the dog. Police are continuing to investigate.

Remember at the school assemblies when the nice firefighter told you not to mess with wires and power lines? Apparently, this guy didn't get the message. A 30 year old man whose name was not released was trying to steal some copper wire from a utility substation in Illinois when he accidentally tapped into a live wire that was carrying 30 THOUSAND VOLTS of electricity. The shock was enough to knock his clothes off. Neighbors heard a man yelling and when the police showed up, they said they found the man naked and writhing in pain. That'll learn ya.

Remember the days of just vegging out on the couch and being so into your favorite TV show, you would ignore when the phone rang? Well, a new Harris Interactive poll shows that with the advent of technology, we are now almost completely incapable of watching TV and doing nothing else. 81% of survey respondents say they either surf the Internet, Facebook, text or shop online while they watch TV. 44% say they read a book. 7% say they use their eReader. 3% say they don't watch TV. (WHAT?!) For me, the most popular activity while watching TV is a combination of Angry Birds, Facebook, texting and laundry. Is there anything that wasn't on the list that you do while you watch TV?
