We have a new American Idol! Plus a terrifying tale of When Animals Attack and I bet you didn't know you could cook that on the grill.

Scotty McCreery is your new American Idol!! He took the crown last night in a star-studded, performance laden final show. Performers included Tim McGraw, Beyonce, former Idol winner Carrie Underwood, JLo and hubby Marc Anthony. I've been watching the winning moment over and over again. These talented kids just blow me away and I'm sure this is not the last we have heard from this years crop of contestants. Congrats, Scotty!!

If you're heading to Duluth for the Memorial Day weekend, watch out!! There's is a bear roaming around Park Point. Residents have spotted the bear wandering around looking in garbage cans and munching on bird feeders. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources believes the bear swam across the river and decided to set up camp on Park Point. So far, no injuries have been reported, but officials are asking homeowners to bring in their trash and take down bird feeders until the bear disappears.

Grilling season is here and hot dogs and hamburgers will be the basic staples, but I bet you didn't know you could cook these things on the Weber:

1. Lettuce - Before making a salad, throw a couple of heads of romaine on the grill. It stays crispy, but gives your salad a smoky flavor. Add some chicken to make it an entree.

2. Breakfast - If you're having an early barbecue before the parades, throw on some french toast and sausage. It will be slightly different than what you're used to, but still delicious.

3. Green Beans - If you've done asparagus or corn on the cob on the grill, this should be easy. Just make sure you have a pan so they don't fall through the grates. If you don't snap off the ends, they work as a finger food with some dip.

4. Clams - Put them in a pan over the fire and they'll open right up. Toss with lemon and garlic and you're good to go.
