Morning Mix Show Notes 11/16

On the Morning Mix, we like to poke fun at celebrities doing dumb stuff, but today one Hollywood Hottie is making the news for doing a good deed. Bradley Cooper is currently filming a movie called The Silver Linings Playbook in Philadelphia and one day he noticed the cold temperatures were really affecting some of the homeless people hanging around the set. So Bradley sent his assistant out to go get thousands of dollars worth of warm coats, scarves and clothing, which Bradley helped hand out himself. One man commented that he liked the coat that Bradley was wearing. Even though it was a gift from Robert DeNiro, Bradley took it off and handed him the coat off his back. What was the nicest thing you've ever seen anyone do for a stranger?

Love pizza but don't eat it a lot because health experts say it's "bad for you"? Well, Congress says, "PHOOEY!" The United States Department of Agriculture is trying to change the requirements for schools to get federal subsidies on their lunches and one may think that that means trying to get kids to eat vegetables. Under the proposal, schools would have to limit potatoes (aka french fries) on their menus and the tomato paste on school pizza also wouldn't count as a vegetable, as it does now. Well, the companies that make french fries and pizzas for schools didn't like that proposal too much, so they took their argument to Congress and both the House and Senate rejected the USDA's proposal, so for right now, french fries and pizza still count as vegetables. WOO-HOO!
