Ed Sheeran has been Spotify's most streamed artist of 2017.

This news from Pitchfork comes at the end of a brilliant year for the British pop star, who smashed multiple international records in 2017 according to Guinness World Records, including:

Fastest-selling pop album in the UK by a male artist
Fastest-selling pop album in the UK by a male artist
Most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours (for "Shape of You")
- First act to debut in UK Top 10 with two singles simultaneously
- First act to debut in US Top 10 with two singles simultaneously
- Most consecutive weeks in UK Top 40 (one single) ("Thinking Out Loud")

Not only was "Shape of You" the most streamed song on Spotify this year, but it surpassed Drake's "One Dance" as the most streamed song on Spotify of all time. Sheeran's latest album ÷ (pronounced "Divide") was also the most streamed album on Spotify this year.

The UK artist is coming to Minnesota in 2018 with a tour stop at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis October 20. Tickets are on sale now.
