Recently, Wallethub.com did a survey to find 2016's Happiest State in America. Scores were based on things like how much sleep residents get, income levels, volunteerism and even sports participation! Here are the top 10 Happiest States and their scores out of 100.

9. South Dakota - 60.08

8. Nebraska - 60.65

7. Iowa - 60.92

Overall the Midwest seems to be a pretty happy place to live! Minnesota would have probably been number one if the temperature didn't drop under 20 below in the winter.

Here are other great things about Minnesota found in the survey: 

- We have the third lowest divorce rate

- We have the fourth highest volunteerism rate (Tied with South Dakota)

- We have the third highest adequate sleep rate!
