Friday I had the opportunity to interview Mike Dimond, Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports North, who is currently in the middle of his “Freezin' Beyond Reason” tour...A tour of Minnesota's Polar Plunges to raise funds for Special Olympics.

Dimond kicked off his mission in January at the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships at Lake Nokomis. Since then, he's participated in Polar Plunge events all across the state, including here in St. Cloud.

Dimond was joined by Twins President Dave St. Peter this weekend, Timberwolves President Chris Wright, and Wild Chief Operating Officer Matt Majka for the South Metro plunge at Crystal Beach in Burnsville. March 15th, he'll be wrapping up at Sugar Lodge in Grand Rapids.

He says if people want to help raise money for Special Olympics, there's lots of ways they can help. The brave of heart can become Plungers! Or...You can sponsor a Plunger...OR...if you just don't have the funds or the nerve to jump in the water but still want to help, just “LIKE” the Minnesota Polar Plunge Facebook page, and $5 per person will be donated to The Special Olympics up to $10,000 from Kwik trip. If you'd like to find the page, just go to plungemn.org, for more information.
