ST. CLOUD - After over 40 years in the business, Mike Bristow has decided to retire from Bristow's Kawasaki and Polaris.

Bristow says Watkins based Mies Outland has acquired Bristow's and will continue to serve the Central Minnesota community with their powersports needs. Bristow's was established in 1977 and has been a Polaris dealer since 1981.

"They'll be taking care of our customers, the good part is that someone will be here for the people that we've taken care of all of these years."

Mies Outland carries Polaris ATV's, Rangers, and snowmobiles, Indian and Victory motorcycles, and a full line of John Deere lawn & garden and agricultural products.

According to their website, Bristow's moved to their current 25,000 square foot facility on Highway 10 in 1995. Bristow says for two to three years they were the largest Polaris dealer in the world. They were also inducted into the Polaris Hall of Fame.

According to Bristow, Mies Outland will likely take over and re-open on July 1st. The 65-year-old Bristow says he's looking forward to spending more time with his family and hobbies.

"40 years of doing the same thing is probably enough. I want to spend some time with my wife and kids. It's just time to stop and slow down time a little bit."

Bristow says it's likely a portion of his employees will transition to work for Mies Outland once they move in.
