We decided to make a quick pit stop in Gary, Indiana on our way home from Michigan this weekend so we could see the childhood home of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family. This modest two bedroom home located at 2300 Jackson Street, was where it all started for the ‘King of Pop’ and his siblings. When we arrived, Michael’s cousin, Trent, was taking deliveries. The Jackson’s own the home next door, and they’re making it an official gift shop.
Gary’s a bit run down and the homes around the Jackson neighborhood leave a lot to be desired, but the people we met couldn’t have been nicer. They gave us the history of the area and told us about an upcoming celebration Katherine Jackson (Michael’s mother) has planned later this month. On a side note, Michael’s other famous home, Neverland Ranch, is expected to fetch between 75-85 million dollars. Its for sale and has a lot of interested buyers.
