Once in awhile music comes across my desk that stops me in my tracks. Last month, a friend of mine from NYC named Dan Pearson sent me music from a 'soul crooner' named Paul Loren. I'd never heard his name before, but was immediately intrigued by his look. Paul looks like a throwback to the 'Rat Pack' days of Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. His sound is absolutely reminiscent of that golden era.

I've had a couple of his songs on repeat in my office. For those that don't know, I'm a huge fan of the music from the 50s and 60s. Paul Loren is throwback enough to be cool, but with a modern twist. I told another radio buddy of mine its like 'Frank Sinatra' meets 'Sam Smith.' He's got that 'blue-eyed soul' thing happening on songs like 'Wishes,' but a Motown flavor on songs like 'All By Myself.' If you like music that sounds timeless, classy, and sexy, give Paul Loren's 2014 release 'Selections from Leisurely' a listen.

Paul joins us for #MixUnplugged tomorrow night (8/19) at Brothers Bar & Grill in downtown St. Cloud. For more information visit paulloren.com. Connect with Paul on Facebook and follow him on Twitter.
