ST. CLOUD -- A Sauk Rapids man has been charged with raping a co-worker while on the job and is being held for possible deportation.

A complaint filed with Stearns County District Court alleges 42-year-old Simon Lwiza cornered the woman in a kitchen, pulled her to the ground and raped her.

The incident took place at a home in Sartell June 16th.

According to the complaint, the woman said Lwiza came up behind her and began kissing her neck. She told him to stop, but then was pulled to the ground and that's when Lwiza is accused of climbing on top of her, pinning her to the ground, choking her and raping her.

A hospital evaluation indicated bruises on the woman's neck and other injuries consistent with sexual assault.

Investigators interviewed Lwiza who was evasive and denied raping the woman.

Stearns County Jail records show Lwiza is being held as Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials investigate whether he is here illegally.
