Make exercise more like a game, and less like a workout. Can you do something for just 25 minutes if it means burning an extra 800 calories a day? Alright then!

Even a simple weight-training program of three 25-minute sessions a week can keep your muscles toned—and burn 100 calories per session. You could blast a third of a pound of pure fat in a month!!!!  WOW!    Or 4 pounds a year. Knowing that...Now! Can you get off the couch! You can do this!  It's all in your mind, so lets' make it fun!

The good news is there's no need to go to the gym. Exercises that rely on body weight, like planks, push-ups, sit ups, dancing, wall sits, squats, and lunges, can be just as effective as those that use weights or machines.

So how to we burn calories while we're working? Here are some ideas! If you make phone calls for one hour at your desk, you'll burn 15 calories, but if you do it while standing up and pacing, you'll blast 100 calories. So just by GETTING UP.... we can burn up to an additional 800 calories a day simply by moving around.

So what can you do? Well....Take the stairs instead of elevators... walk to a colleagues' desk rather than sending an email. "Do squats or lunges while waiting for the copier to warm up. Take a  walk around the building on your lunch break. Squeeze your butt muscles when you have to sit, and keep your legs and arms moving if you can.

A study in which women practiced meditation and Yoga for four months found those who showed greatest improvement in awareness of thoughts and feelings reduced their abdominal fat the most.   Okay Yoga...If you'll eat my fat... YOU WIN!  I'm in.

Every little bit helps. If you can get started with just simply recognizing that you can move more than you are...you just might be pleasantly surprised. Let's get to it!
