WHAT IS MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Muscular Dystrophy is a group of diseases in which muscle fibers are particularly susceptible to damage, and those muscles continue to get progressively weaker.  Most people with Muscular Dystrophy eventually need the assistance of a wheelchair.  While there is currently no cure for Muscular Dystrophy, there are a variety of medications and therapy that can slow the course of the disease for those affected by it.

WHAT'S HAPPENING

Members of the Saint Cloud Fire Department along with the Muscular Dystrophy Association are holding their annual "FILL THE BOOT" Fundraiser, September 17th through the 19th.

WHERE

Members of the Fire Department in Saint Cloud will spread out along the intersections of 33rd and Division Street with boots in their hands for donations.  The fundraiser will take place from 11 am to 1 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm each day.

WHY

The proceeds from this fundraiser will help provide money for research, specialized health care services, and day to day support for over 40 local families dealing with the disease.
