Local 411 – Family Fun Fest Superhero Movie Marathon Tonight
WHAT'S HAPPENING
The Waite Park Family Fun Fest is underway, and this week is filled with fun events for the whole family.
WEDNESDAY - Superhero Movie Marathon at Parkwood Cinema
The Marcus Parkwood Cinema is providing a free viewing of "The Incredibles," and "The Dark Knight Rises." There will be reduced ticket fees for "Avenger-Age of Ultron."
THURSDAY - Various activities throughout the day
- City Wide Garge Sale: 8am - 5pm. Sale maps available at City Hall after 1 pm Wednesday June 10th.
- Library Book Sale: 8am - 5pm. Al Ringsmuth Library has gently used books and donated books for sale. Donated books are for all ages .
- Library Kids Program: 11am - 11:45am. You can celebrate summer reading with musician Paul Spring. Parents and children of all ages will enjoy Paul's guitar story songs.
- Kids Project Build: 12:30- 2:30pm. The event will happen at the Community Park Pavillion. It will be a wood building project and the boyscouts will be on hand selling hot dogs and pop for $1.00.
- FREE Caboose tours: 1 pm - 5pm. Learn Railroad history. STARail is located at 201 3rd Street North.
- Cookie Decorating: 3pm - 4pm at Community Park Pavillion
- Kiddie Parade: 6pm. Waite Park City Hall to Community Park.
- Kids Night: 6pm - 8pm. Community Park Outdoor movie: Big Hero 6. Free popcorn provided by Parkwood Cinema. Food sold by Waite Park Boy Scouts.
FRIDAY - All events at Waite Park Community Park
- Food Vendors & Beer Gardens: 4pm - 10pm.
- 5th Annual Best Car Show: 4:30pm - 9pm.
- Music in the park: 4pm-9:30pm. Eddie's Band 4 -6pm. The White Sidewalls Rock and Roll Review: 6 - 9:30pm.
- Grand Marshal Ceremony: 7pm.
SATURDAY - More Fun and Festivities
- Superhero Fun Walk/Run: Healthy Living Trail
- Waite Park Girl Scout Food Drive: Food shelf items collected on parade route start at 10:45am.
- Superhero Grand Day Parade: 11am. The parade starts at the Waite Park Library, to 1sst St N, to 13th Ave N then ending at Community Park. Participants and Spectators are encouraged to dress in their Superhero costumes.
- Food Vendors and Beer Gardens: Noon - 10pm.
- Kids inflatable Games and Entertainment: Noon - 5pm.
- Firefighters Water Ball Fight: 2 - 3pm.
- Music in the park: 1:30 - 10pm. Alan Godage & Sundown from 1:30 - 5:30pm, followed by The BLT Band, from 5:30 - 9:30pm.
SUNDAY - Kids' Fishing Contest
Everything gets started at Rock Island Park Pond. This is a free event for kids 2 -12. Bring your own rod, tackle, bait and a bucket to hold your fish. Prizes will be awarded.
