The 85th Annual Academy Awards are coming up on Sunday. Here are some little known fun facts about the awards.

Did you know there are three films that have tied for 11 awards? Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Titanic and Ben Hur. By the way, 11 is the most awards ever one by a single film.

The youngest Oscar winner ever was Tatum O’Neal. She won for Paper Moon in 1973 at the age of 10. The oldest was Christopher Plummer who was 82 when he won in 2011 for Beginners. This year, there are two actresses who are making history. Quvenzhane Wallis for Beasts of the Southern Wild and at the age of nine, she is the youngest nominee ever. Emmanuelle Rivera is making history is the oldest nominee ever at the age of 85 for her role in Amour.

Michael Jackson paid $1.54 million dollars for an Oscar statuette in 1999. The award once belonged to David Selznick. He won Best Picture for Gone With the Wind in 1939. Gone With the Wind, by the way holds the record for longest Best Picture winner. The film is 234 minutes long.

Walt Disney holds the record for most nominations ever at 59. They also hold the record for for Oscars won at 26.

Peter O’Toole holds the record for most Best Actor nominations without ever winning. He’s been nominated eight times.

The record for most viewers for an Oscars telecast was in 1998 when 52.2 million people tuned in to watch Titanic win Best Picture.

Everyone needs to get to the ceremony and no one wants to drive, so every year, 300 limousines are reserved for attendees.
