With summer coming to an end, we have to remember that here in Minnesota, we are lucky enough to have plenty of activities that lead from one season to the next. If you can't seem to think of anything to do, here's a list of fun activities for you and the entire family.

APPLE PICKING

Mom asked me yesterday if I would eat the apples from their apple tree. Are you kidding?  I'll make apple pies, apple turnovers, baked apples...heck yeah Mom!  Let's hit that apple tree!  There are plenty of Apple Farms around, and apple picking season typically starts in late August and continues through late October. Depending on which Apple farm you choose, in can be peaceful and romantic, or just a fun day out with the entire family.

PUMPKIN PICKING

Everyone who has children needs to have the experience of visiting a pumpkin patch.  It's a blast to let the kids pick out their favorite pumpkin, no matter how big or small. There's typically lots to do on a pumpkin farm.  Some are also Apple Orchards, so you can go apple and pumpkin picking all in one trip.  You can find hayrides, and typically lots of other entertainment on hand for children.

ENJOY MINNESOTA'S FALL COLORS

Minnesota experiences beautiful colors in the fall. It's almost something dreams are made of!  You can turn just about anywhere to get a great fall photo...Take pictures....sit in the yard and make a drawing...try to watercolor.  If you want to see some of the best colors in Minnesota,  they are usually most intense in hilly areas, so North Shore of Minnesota is a classic fall color destination.  The St. Croix Valley just east of the metro area, is also a great place.
