We all have stressful moments in life. Sometimes...We just want to scream, fight, cry...whatever it takes to aleviate our stressful symptoms. It is easier said than done, but try these 'Keeping Your Cool' tips.

IF YOU'RE ANGRY OR UPSET WITH SOMEONE

Before you say something you might regret, try to take a deep breath in...hold it for a few seconds....then slowly let it out.  Count to 10...S L O W L Y. Usually, by the time you reach 10, you will be able to think of a better way to communicate your feelings.

IF YOU FEEL NERVOUS

Put cold water on your face. Seriously. Putting cold water on your face will slow your heart rate 10 to 25%. It can also help to take deep slow breaths, and get some fresh air.Try to avoid caffeine which can add to the problem.

IF YOU FEEL AFRAID, DEPRESSED OR DISCOURAGED

Get some exercise.  I know...You probably don't feel like doing anything but laying down and sleeping it off. But the best thing you can do is to get a good work out.  Run...Walk...Jog....Do jumping jacks. Get your heart rate going. All that exercise will energize you and if you keep it up, you'll feel better afterwards, as well as for a longer period of time.

IF YOU FEEL UNSURE OF YOURSELF

If you just don't know what to do in your situation, make a list of the pro's and con's. Give them all scores on a scale of 1 to 10... or 1 to 5. After reviewing and evaluating all options, it may help you see a clear choice.
