It's easy to focus on all the negative stuff related to Justin Bieber that happens, like graffiti drama, bodyguard issues and negative comments. It's easy to forget that the Biebs is 19 and growing up under the glare of tweets and paparazzi flashbulbs.

Less attention is paid to his charitable endeavors and exploits, of which there are just as many. He just paid a surprise visit to victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.

The Category-5 typhoon struck on Nov. 8, displacing 3.5 million people.

The Biebs met with children and families at San Jose Elementary School in Tacloban on Tuesday, Dec. 10, listening to their tales of survival.

He visited Action Against Hunger's water and sanitation programs, engaged with local community members and played basketball with Action Against Hunger employees and performed an acoustic show. So, yeah, he did a LOT! There is photographic evidence, too.

Da Biebs also launched a fundraising program where donors of $10 or more are eligible for exclusive rewards, such as signed lyric sheets, as well as one grand prize winner who
will win a trip for two to meet Bieber in his recording studio in early 2014.

"When I saw what happened in the Philippines, I was shocked--the destruction was devastating and I wanted to do whatever I could to help," he said. "I always can count on my fans, so I started planning a way for us to make a big impact to help our friends in the Philippines together."

Biebs helped rescue workers blow off some steam with a game of hoops. He's a baller with a heart.
