Some popular coffee chains are giving out free coffee for National Coffee Day today, but Starbucks is not on the list year. Instead, they have a yearlong program where they'll plant a tree for every bag of coffee they sell at their stores. You can get a free small coffee and a glazed donut at Krispy Kreme if you mention the promotion, participating Dunkin' Donuts will give you a free medium or iced coffee if you ask for it (why can't we have either of those in St. Cloud).

Whole Foods stores are selling 12-ounce cups of coffee for 25 cents each, Staples is running a contest where you can win a Keurig if you tweet a photo of your favorite coffee mug with the hashtag #OfficeMugShot. How about McDonald's you ask? I couldn't find any info online about participating in National Coffee Day this year. A few  select locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts are giving out small cups.

I hope we see a Dunkin' Donuts here sometime soon. Its one of my all-time favorites. Whenever we travel back home to Wisconsin, its one of the first stops I make.

**UPDATE - Holiday is offering small coffee or cappuccino (12 oz) every Tuesday for the next several weeks this fall.
