Welcome to cuffing season, the magical time of year where everyone pairs up for the winter. Urban Dictionary defines it as

The colder months; i.e. fall or winter, when new relationships start and old relationships turn into engagements. The persons in said relationships are "cuffed", meaning that they no longer seek non-platonic relationships with others.

Basically all your habitually single friends are searching for commitment, and your taken friends will be getting engaged over the upcoming holidays. Be ready for lots of "new relationship" and "engaged" posts on Facebook!
