Starring: Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks

Summary: Ned (Rudd) is a happy-go-lucky hippie who makes the stupid mistake of selling marijuana to a police officer…in uniform! When he gets released from prison he comes home to find that his girlfriend has dumped him and kicked him out. With nowhere else to go he stays with each of his three sisters, unintentionally wreaking havoc on all their lives. In the end Miranda (Banks), Natalie (Deschanel), and Liz (Mortimer) realize that having Ned in their lives is a good thing and their lives are all better for it.

This movie is not at all what I expected. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked it, but it’s not really a comedy per se. Although the trailer makes it look like a comedy, it’s really a drama with funny parts in it. However, Paul Rudd plays Ned in such a sweet and endearing way that the movie is quite delightful. Ned has such a sweet disposition that you can’t help but love him, and I truly believe that the world would be a much better place if there were more Neds in it.

Trivia: The ending seen in theaters now is different than the one screened at the Sundance Film Festival where the film premiered.
