Starring: Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Gary Oldman

Summary: The huggable, lovable panda Po (Black) is back for an all new martial-arts adventure. Now that he has become the Dragon Warrior, Po and the Furious Five serve as protectors of the valley. When an evil white peacock named Lord Shen (Oldman) creates a weapon to destroy Kung Fu, Po and the Five must stop him before he takes over China. Things get complicated when Po’s repressed childhood memories begin to surface. Po then learns the truth about where he came from and how he ended up with a goose for a father. Once Po accepts his past he’s able to move forward to defeat Lord Shen and restore peace to the land.

As a fan of the original Kung Fu Panda I had pretty high expectations for this sequel. I can happily state that I was not disappointed. There’s just something so endearing about Po. I admit I got a little emotional when Po’s  past is revealed and he learns the truth about his parents. Not to mention that the flashbacks of Po as a baby had me gushing over the cuteness. The animation is spectacular as is Gary Oldman as the villain, but then again he’s always a great villain.

Rated: PG – For sequences of martial arts action and mild violence.

Grade: B
