Slate.com took, what they called a layered and multi-step, survey asking "if your state had an official word, what would it be?"

Ever heard the term "shucky darn"? If you live in Kansas you have, that's your unofficial word according to slate.com. "Shucky Darn" is an exclamation that loosely equates to “wow!”.

Minnesota, it comes to no surprise, that our unofficial word is... UFF DA!

In Ohio, they use "carry-in" which would be Minnesota's equivalent to pot-luck dinner.

In New Mexico, "Christmas" is used to describe a green and red chili mix... "please pass the Christmas", these chips could use some flavor".

Sit back, grab a strawberry "cabinet" (Rhode Island) and enjoy the rest of the strange words used throughout the United States, here.
