I went to my first outdoor hockey game at TCF Bank Stadium, Minneapolis this weekend. The North Stars vs. Black Hawk alumni game was part of the NHL's 2016 Stadium Series.

I went to the game with a group of people including my dad and my fiance. Even though I was only two years old when the North Stars went to Dallas, it was cool to hear everyone reminisce about the past!

The game kicked off with the National Anthem and fireworks. First of all, watching fireworks at a HOCKEY game is a rarity--that was cool in itself. Watching former North Stars players in uniform again was unreal!

Former North Stars hockey players laced up their skates for the first time in years. The lineup included; Brad Bombardir, Neal Broten, Andrew Brunette, Dino Ciccarelli, Darby Hendrickson, Antti Laaksonen, Mike Modano, Bobby Smith and Wes Walz to name a few.

Watching hockey outdoors seemed so Minnesotan--It really made me realized why Minnesota is called that state of hockey. It was a gorgeous day outside so the snow on the field was fake but, it looked like a beautiful winter wonderland. I think that the NHL should have a stadium series outdoors every year!
