ST. CLOUD -- Live music, games and perfect weather were some of the highlights of Pride in the Park at Lake George.

Hundreds of people celebrated at the 6th annual event organized by St. Cloud Pride.

"To start off, gotta talk about the weather -- it's been a great day and we're very fortunate for that," says Dan Weidner, who helped put on the event.

"The bands on stage have been great, things like the beer garden are fun, and it's great to walk around and check out what some of the businesses have to offer."

This is Weidner's first year being involved with St. Cloud Pride and he says it has been a great experience.

"It's been wonderful," Weidner says. "I came out a year ago, and it took me a little while to be comfortable with myself out in the community and I felt like this was a great way to get involved."

"The big thing for people coming out is to have a good support group -- I think that's what Pride events in any community help to do."

Weidner says the weather and festivities are great, but seeing the support shown by the St. Cloud community has been his favorite part of the event.

"The big thing I've noticed around here is the big number of allies and supporters," Weidner says. "Whether it be businesses or people attending, [there are] a lot of familiar faces here today and I'm just glad to see all the supporters."

Pride Weekend in St. Cloud continues tonight with a drag show at River's Edge Convention Center at 7:00 p.m. and a brunch on Sunday at D.B. Searles at 11:00 a.m.
