Wait, what?

Deadline is exclusively reporting that British actor Hugh Grant was "deep in final negotiations" to replace Charlie Sheen on the long running - and currently in limbo - CBS sitcom 'Two and a Half Men.' However, at the last minute, Grant pulled out, due to creative differences.

I think we all owe Hugh Grant a sincere "thank you".

Grant was reportedly being offered more than $1 million per-episode to join the show. CBS was hoping to find an A-list replacement in time for its upfronts presentation next week in New York.

'Two and a Half Men' has been put on hold ever since CBS unceremoniously fired Sheen in March, due to his erratic behavior and comments made about series creator Chuck Lorre. According to Deadline, Lorre only wants to continue doing the show "if he can find the right actor and get excited about that."

If Chuck Lorre really wanted Hugh Grant for the show, then he is extremely desperate.  Hugh Grant is not funny, Charlie Sheen is hysterical.

And how would you introduce that British element to the show?  I've seen every episode of  'Two and a Half Men', and I've never heard Charlie or Allen mention a British; friend, cousin, relative, etc.

Or, would Charlie Harper just move out for some unexplained reason?  Leaving his house in Malibu to Allen, who then rents out a room to some British guy.  It just doesn't work for me.

If you bring in a new guy - it has to be someone that takes the show in a whole new direction - Sheen cannot just be replaced, certainly not by Hugh Grant.

But I'd still watch if Dave Chappelle moved in!
