Over the weekend, I was without my cell phone from Saturday (August 1st) morning until this morning (Monday, August 3rd) and I LOVED not having it.

My phone has been acting up, and by that I mean resetting it's self, dropping calls, not ringing when there is a incoming call, not getting texts and the BIG ONE... my data spiked to 23-Gigabytes... seriously 23-Gigs, in three-days, WHILE USING WIFI (and Verzion made me shell out the payment for the overage... REALLY? 23-GIGS, in three days?! Thanks Verizon, bye now... Hello AT&T).

So after multiple phone calls to Verizon (each at an hour or more) they were not able to solve or even recognize the problem. Giving me options to, basically, spend more money for an upgrade or continue to pay for the OUTSTANDING and ridiculous overage.

So, on Saturday morning I backed up all my files, pictures and videos from the last year and a half... my phone, for some unknown (again) reason had not backed up my files since March 1, 2015. If anything, getting my contacts back would be the least of my worries, I needed the videos and pictures of my daughter since the day she was born to be saved... so, from Saturday morning until this morning, I left my phone at a friend's house to backup all my files.

Why did I leave it at friend's house, cause I don't have WiFi at my house, I know... welcome to 2015.

Anyway, I left it there to backup all files and it took just over 48-hours. And I loved not having a phone.

I felt way more productive and active with my family than when my is around, constantly beeping, ringing or my own personal problem of checking Facebook. It was great to not have a phone for the last 48-hours and it almost persuaded me to NOT have a phone anymore. That won't be possible though, I use my phone for work, to take pictures and videos of my daughter and to stay in contact with my mom/friends who live hours and hours away.

All in all, I guess I need my phone, but it's not going to be in pocket every second of every day.
