"Here We Come, Walkin' Down The Street," that's the opening line from The Monkees TV show, and a theme song that still gets me pumped 34-years later.  I have fond memories of being 5-years-old, sitting in front of the television set after kindergarten, and getting ready to watch my all-time favorite TV show.  My love for Micky, Peter, Davy and Mike started at a very young age, thanks to a mother who grew up a die-hard fan herself in the late 60's.  My first BIG concert was seeing The Monkees on their 20th anniversary North American Tour back in 1986 (I was 10 years old).  I still have the tour program, and concert t-shirt tucked away in my fire proof box.

I knew from a very early age, that I wanted to be in the music business, and it was all thanks to that TV show.  The reason I played the drums was because of Micky Dolenz, in fact my mothers dog was even named after the mopped topped Monkees member.  I memorized all the words to their songs (not just the hits but the deep cuts as well), watched rerun after rerun of their popular TV show, and waited patiently to finally see Mike Nesmith join the surviving Monkees on stage. I had a chance to see the guys two years ago in Minneapolis, and they didn't disappoint.

Don't miss your chance to spend an evening with The Monkees next Monday (June 2nd) night at the Minnesota Zoo.  Doors are at 7 pm with a 7:30 pm showtime.  Its part of the 'Music In The Zoo' concert series at the Weesner Family Amphitheater in Apple Valley, Minnesota. Tickets are $70.00 reserved / $82.50 VIP box seat.  Click here for more information or to purchase tickets online.
