I'm a wine fan.  So nothing sounds more exciting than taking a tour of the Minnesota Heartland Wine Trail.  It includes a diverse group of wineries situated throughout the state and gives you the opportunity to try wines that are made right here in our very own backyard.  Along with tasting some of the areas finest wines, you learn about the wine-making process and gain a deeper appreciation of the ever expanding 'wine industry' in Minnesota.

I've only been to one winery on the trail so far but look forward to exploring more.  I had the pleasure of visiting with the fine folks at the Millner Heritage Vineyard & Winery last year.  They let us sample some of their exclusive brands and also took us on a tour of the vineyard (complete with eating their locally grown grapes right off the vine).  Their open year round and always have something fun on the calender.  Check out their website for more information or call 320.398.2081.

Other places to check out along the trail include:  Buffalo Rock Winery (Buffalo), Crofut Family Winery (Jordan), Glacial Ridge Winery (Spicer), Hinterland Vineyards (Clara City), Parley Lake Winery (Waconia) and Woodland Hill Winery (Delano).  You can learn more about the Minnesota Heartland Wine Trail by visiting their website.
