You can never actually know if a sequel/prequel/companion series will be as bad as it sounds until it's actually released, but this sounds terrible and even a little sad.

Disney, running out of ideas? That's what this says to me, after the once, wonderfully creative company, made classics like "Bambi", "The Lion King", "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Pinocchio", "Dumbo", "Aladdin" and so many more.

It seems Disney has relied on the success of their classic animated films and tried to run the sequel/prequel idea a number of times... I'm pretty sure there are four or five "Lion King", "Cinderella" and "Little Mermaid" films, none that hold up to the originals.

But Disney is ready to give it another go with a LIVE-ACTION adaptation, not animated, called "Genie". It will answer the question on our minds, apparently, how did Genie get into the lamp.

Remember 23-years ago, when Genie came bursting out of the lamp, voiced by Robin Williams and you couldn't stop laughing? Watch it again up top.
