Not all "Saturday Night Live" cast members shine as brightly at the box office as they did on the set of "SNL", but some former cast members cashed in from movies they starred in.

BusinessWeek.com has a list of the 25 most successful movie careers of former "SNL" stars. They ranked them by the overall gross of their movies in the U.S. and Canada.

These are the TOP 10, former "SNL" stars who made bank at the box office

1. Eddie Murphy, $5.79 billion over 38 movies. "Shrek 2" is the biggest, at $550 million.

 

2. Dan Aykroyd, $4.26 billion over 56 movies. "Ghostbusters" is the biggest, at $514 million.

 

3. Robert Downey, Jr., $3.9 billion over 57 movies. "The Avengers" is the biggest, at $646 million. He did one season on "SNL": Season 11,
1985 - '86.

 

4. Ben Stiller, $3.87 billion over 50 movies. "Meet the Fockers" is the biggest, at $352 million. He did FOUR EPISODES OF "SNL" in 1989.

 

5. Bill Murray, $3.43 billion over 46 movies. "Ghostbusters" is the biggest, at $514 million.

 

6. Adam Sandler, $3.22 billion over 36 movies. "The Waterboy" is the biggest, at $236 million.

 

7. Chris Rock, $3.07 billion over 33 movies. "Beverly Hills Cop 2" is the biggest, at $322 million.

 

8. Will Ferrell, $3.06 billion over 40 movies. "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" is the biggest, at $293 million.

 

9. Mike Myers, $2.89 billion over 16 movies. "Shrek 2" is the biggest, at $550 million.

 

10. Joan Cusack, $2.81 billion over 48 movies. "Toy Story 3" is the biggest, at $453 million. She was on Season 11 of "SNL" with Robert Downey Jr.
