SARTELL -- A minor fire interrupted production at the DeZURIK plant in Sartell Tuesday afternoon.

Sartell Fire Chief Jim Sattler tells WJON that crews were called out to a fire at the valve manufacturer around 4:00 p.m. and arrived on scene to smoke coming from the northeast corner of the building in the rubber grinding area.

The employees were evacuated and no one was injured. Chief Sattler says the sprinkler system handled most of the fire, and firefighters ensured the fire was out and ventilated the building.

The damage was limited to the rubber grinding area and dust collection system. The exact cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.

Sattler says employees were able to return to work later Tuesday night.
