ST. CLOUD - Students and staff at St. Cloud State University will have some new food options when they return to campus for the fall semester.

Tammy McGee is the Vice President of Finance and Administration. She says the university is ending a 10-year partnership with Sodexo, and has signed of five-year food service contract with Chartwells.

McGee says Chartwells has promised about $2 million in upgrades at the Atwood Memorial Center and Garvey Commons.

First, this summer predominantly on the first floor of the Atwood student union, we'll be renovating to be able to provide options for the Erbert & Gerbert's, the expanded convenience store, the Chick-Fil-A Express, and the expansion of Caribou and Einstein Brothers.

McGee says a "Denny's" restaurant will also be going into the lower level of Atwood. She says while most of the food service changes will be at the Atwood Memorial Center and Garvey Commons, Chartwells will be responsible for the food options throughout campus.

They will also be providing meals in our ISELF building, which is our key corporate partnership building. We will also have it in our library. And they will be supporting a lot of the concession stand work and some catering across campus.

The transition from Sodexo to Chartwell is already underway.
