ST. CLOUD - A St. Cloud child care center lost its license this week due to numerous health and safety violations, according to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

The DHS first revoked the license for Hashiro Child Care Center in August 2015. The center appealed the decisions but eventually withdrew. The DHS Commissioner gave a final order to revoke the license on Tuesday.

Hashiro was licensed since just March 21st, 2014, it was at 605 Franklin Avenue Northeast. DHS records say ownership knowingly withheld information from or gave false information to the Commissioner related to license applications, background studies and compliance with child care center laws and rules.

The DHS says the center had numerous health and safety violations, including failing to submit background checks on employees, failing to employ qualified staff, failing to keep children away from hazards, failing to maintain equipment and furniture and failing to document fire and tornado drills.
