Duchess Kate is Pregnant With First Child

The baby announcement that the world has been waiting for since the news that the Royal couple were getting married is finally here!

Buckingham Palace announced today that Prince William and Princess Kate are expecting their first child together! Kate was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London today (Monday) with hyperemesis gravidarum (or severe morning sickness), according to a release from the palace. As the pregnancy is in its "very early stages," Kate will stay in hospital for several days, the palace said.

The Royal couple wed in April in 2011 and have been closely watched by millions to see when the baby bump would appear. Most recently in September, Kate opted for a glass of water over a glass of wine that Prince William and others were drinking. And, her clothing has changed. Wearing long, dark coats to cover up a bump.

The new baby will become third in line to the throne, following Prince William and Prince Charles. The child's birth also will bump William's brother, Prince Harry, down a notch in the sequence.
