Money... Money...Money...Mr. Potato head said it best.  We definitely need it for our survival. Lots of people keep a survival kit at home in case of a disaster regarding their physical health, but not their financial health. It's recommended that we all take a look around, gather our papers, and put them in a fire proof safe somewhere in our home, just in case disaster strikes.

PAPER COPIES OF CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS

It's recommended by MSN Money, that you make color copies of the front and back of every card you carry. That gives you all the info you need to get cards replaced, withdraw cash at the bank, and make purchases over the phone or online.

PAPER COPIES OF INSURANCE CARDS

Keep proof of all your insurance policies...medical, dental, auto, property, and life insurance. It's also a good idea to included the policy numbers and 24 hour contact numbers for all the providers. They say it's also a good idea tto keep a copy of your agents numbers as well. On a large, scale, it could shut down their local offices.

CONTACT INFORMATION FOR MEDICAL PROVIDERS

If you get hurt, someone else will be able to use it to get you to the right doctor, and protect you against big bills that your insurance might refuse to pay because you went to someone out of network.

WHAT IF?

So...What if you do all of these things, and there are no banks to get your money out of, regardless if you have the paper work? Should you keep a stash of cash somewhere? Change? It might not be a bad idea. Same money the fire proof safe.  It's definitely something to think about.
