SLEEP OVER EXERCISE? REALLY?

I read an article today that said, "Sleep is more important to your health than exercise."  How can that be?  What does that mean for those of us who aren't getting much of either?

I think I average about 5 solid hours of sleep each night..If I try for more, I can't go to sleep.

According to info from Rejuv Medical, your hormones get reset when you're sleeping; which sort of means you are recharging your battery.  Studies show that by just getting one more hour of sleep each night, your ability to lose weight can increase by 24 to 40 percent!  So how do we make this happen.  Here are some helpful tips from an article I received from rejuvmedical.com.

STEPS TO BETTER SLEEP

  • No screen time 1 to 2 hours before bed. That means no phone, tablet or tv.
  • Keep your bedroom at a cool temp.  What's cool? 62-68 and as DARK as possible.
  • Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day...including weekends.
  • Stretch your whole body to relax, and practice deep breathing before you go to bed.
  • Try a non stimulating activity before bed. Suggestions were reading...(Isn't that stimulating?) What about crocheting?  Hmm...I think everything is stimulating. Go figure.

If you attempt these and still cant fall asleep, you might want to try supplementing with Melatonin and or Magnesium.

You could also make an appointment to have your hormone levels checked since not sleeping well is a sign of imbalance.
