SAUK RAPIDS -- Members of the public will have a chance to tour the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' new Sauk Rapids headquarters tomorrow (Tuesday).

The DNR moved into the new building at 1035 South Benton Drive in January.

DNR spokesman Mark Hauck says they moved only about a block-and-a-half from their old offices, but needed more space and more visibility.

Hauck says the new facility will accommodate the move-in of the Fisheries Division and add more shop and storage space. They now have a a nearly full-service headquarters in central Minnesota.

The open house will be from 2:00-5:00 p.m. You can meet local DNR staff, see Smokey Bear and get a look at some of the equipment they use in DNR operations.
